Ribosomal protein L35a pseudogene 32 (RPL35AP32) is a human processed pseudogene related to the functional gene RPL35A, which encodes a 60S ribosomal protein involved in the large subunit of the ribosome[9][10]. Pseudogenes like RPL35AP32 are non-coding genomic segments with high sequence similarity to real genes but generally lack the capacity to code for functioning proteins or exert biological activity. There is no evidence of its participation in ribosome structure, protein synthesis, or any regulatory cell process. RPL35AP32 is not recognized as a therapeutic target, is not associated with pathology, and has no role in drug action or biomarker status[9][10]. Key distinction: - RPL35AP32 is distinct from RPL35A (Ribosomal protein L35a), which is a protein-coding gene relevant to ribosomal function and certain diseases (e.g. Diamond-Blackfan anemia)[3][5].
