Pseudogenes like RPL36P18 are non-protein-coding DNA sequences that resemble functional genes but typically lack the ability to encode functional proteins due to mutations or disruptions. RPL36P18 does not appear to encode a functional product and is not known to have a direct biological function or disease association.
