Ribosomal protein L36 pseudogene 20 (RPL36P20) is a *human processed pseudogene* closely related in sequence to ribosomal protein L36 (RPL36), a component of the large (60S) ribosomal subunit involved in protein synthesis[3][5][7]. As a pseudogene, RPL36P20 does not encode a functional protein and is not part of any canonical molecular pathway. While some pseudogenes have been implicated in non-coding RNA regulatory activities, such as acting as microRNA decoys or influencing the expression of their parental gene at the RNA level, there is no published evidence for a specific biological or disease role, nor for any drug targeting or use as a biomarker, with respect to RPL36P20[6].
