Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein L36 pseudogene 6 (RPL36P6) is a processed pseudogene, meaning it is a non-functional remnant of a gene that originally encoded the ribosomal protein L36. Unlike true protein-coding ribosomal protein L36 genes such as RPL36, RPL36P6 does not produce an active protein and is not involved in ribosome function or protein synthesis. Human pseudogenes like RPL36P6 result from retrotransposition events and are widely distributed throughout the genome, but they do not generally contribute to biological pathways or disease phenotypes[5][6][4].
