Ribosomal protein L37 pseudogene 13 (RPL37P13) is a processed pseudogene belonging to the large family of ribosomal protein L37 pseudogenes present in the human genome[8][6]. Pseudogenes, including RPL37P13, are non-functional DNA sequences that arise from duplication or retrotransposition of protein-coding genes but typically lack the ability to produce a functioning protein[8]. They are distinct from the parent gene RPL37, which encodes the ribosomal protein L37, a component of the 60S ribosomal subunit responsible for protein synthesis[1][4][9]. There is no current evidence that RPL37P13 functions as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other classical therapeutic target, and it is not involved in drug interactions or targeted therapy. Scientific literature does not describe any known biological, disease, or therapeutic role for RPL37P13, and its presence is considered a feature of genome evolution rather than functional biology[8][4][9]. The RPL37P13 “target” is a pseudogene and not a true protein-coding gene, receptor, or molecular target for therapy[8][6]. Pseudogenes generally do not encode functional products, and most lack any direct biological activity; RPL37P13 specifically has no established function or role in human disease or therapy[8][1]. “Is incorrect” is true because RPL37P13 is not a valid therapeutic target, nor is it considered a molecular target in the traditional sense.
