Overview

Ribosomal protein L37 pseudogene 2 (RPL37P2/PSANK1) is classified as a pseudogene located on chromosome 11q13.2 in the human genome[9]. It is a non-functional genomic sequence related to the ribosomal protein L37 gene, which is a component of the large 60S ribosomal subunit essential for protein synthesis[3][7]. Unlike the functional RPL37 gene, RPL37P2 does not produce a protein and has no established biological function or clinical significance as a therapeutic target. There are numerous pseudogenes for ribosomal proteins in the human genome, most of which do not encode functional proteins and are not considered drug targets[2][7][9].
