Ribosomal protein L37 pseudogene 24 (RPL37P24), also known as RPL37_11_1779, is a processed pseudogene in the human genome that shares sequence similarity with the ribosomal protein L37 gene but does not encode a functional protein product[1][8][10]. Pseudogenes like RPL37P24 are common for ribosomal protein genes, arising from genomic duplication or retrotransposition events; they are generally not transcribed into functional products nor do they play known roles in normal biology or disease[6][8]. RPL37P24 is not considered a molecular target for therapeutics or diagnostics and does not participate in recognized signaling, regulatory, or enzymatic activities in the cell[1][8][10].
