Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein L39 pseudogenes are non-functional DNA elements in the human genome that share high sequence similarity to the functional ribosomal protein L39 gene (RPL39). Unlike the functional gene or its paralog RPL39L, these pseudogenes are not translated into a functional protein and have no direct role in cellular processes or disease. They do not serve as therapeutic targets, biomarkers, or drug targets, and their presence is largely an artifact of genomic evolution and gene duplication events[6][3].
