Overview

Ribosomal protein L4 pseudogene 6 (RPL4P6) is a processed pseudogene derived from the ribosomal protein L4 gene and is present in the human genome as a non-coding genomic sequence[1][7]. Pseudogenes like RPL4P6 do not encode functional proteins but can participate in gene regulation, for example as sources of regulatory RNAs or by acting as molecular decoys for microRNAs[1][7]. There is no evidence or literature supporting its use as a therapeutic target; it is mainly a genomic locus of interest for genomic organization or evolutionary studies, rather than drug targeting. RPL4P6 is not associated with any protein function, disease phenotypes, or direct molecular interactions relevant to pharmacology[1][7]. RPL4P6 should not be confused with *ribosomal protein L4* (RPL4), which is a coding gene for a ribosomal subunit protein and has links to diseases and cell cycle regulation, but RPL4P6 itself is a non-functional pseudogene copy[1][5].
