Ribosomal protein L41 pseudogenes are non-functional genomic DNA sequences derived from the ribosomal protein L41 (RPL41) gene. Pseudogenes such as ENSG00000230199 do not encode functional ribosomal proteins or participate in protein synthesis, and are not considered receptors or therapeutic targets. Multiple pseudogenes for ribosomal protein L41 exist in the human genome; they are sometimes referenced as RPL41P1, RPL41P2, etc. Pseudogenes typically arise through gene duplication or retrotransposition and are characterized by the inability to produce functional protein products. There is no evidence that these pseudogene copies have independent biological or clinical relevance.
