Overview

ribosomal protein L6 pseudogene 2 (RPL6P2) is a processed pseudogene derived from the ribosomal protein L6 (RPL6) gene. Pseudogenes like RPL6P2 do not encode a functional product and occur due to genomic duplications and retrotransposition events. Unlike the functional RPL6 gene, which encodes a component of the large 60S ribosomal subunit involved in protein synthesis, RPL6P2 lacks coding potential and is not involved in ribosome assembly or cellular function. There is no evidence that RPL6P2 plays a role in disease, drug interaction, or clinical targeting. RPL6P2 is a non-functional processed pseudogene. It is not a protein, not a biological or pharmacological target, and should not be considered in contexts where an active molecule or receptor is required.
