Target intelligence / Profile preview
RPL6P27, or ribosomal protein L6 pseudogene 27, is a processed pseudogene on human chromosome 18. It is related by sequence to the ribosomal protein L6 gene (RPL6) but does not encode a functional protein. Like other ribosomal pseudogenes, RPL6P27 is dispersed in the human genome as a result of genomic duplication events, but lacks coding potential, regulatory activity, or clinical significance. For structured therapeutic and molecular annotation, RPL6P27 should not be considered a functional drug target. If the primary interest is in ribosomal protein L6, use RPL6 (ribosomal protein L6), which is the active component of the 60S ribosomal subunit.
