Ribosomal protein L7 pseudogene 18 (RPL7P18) is a processed pseudogene of the ribosomal protein L7 family in the human genome. Pseudogenes like RPL7P18 are DNA sequences similar to known genes but are non-functional due to mutations or lack of regulatory elements required for protein coding. RPL7P18, specifically, does not encode a functional ribosomal protein or participate in ribosome assembly, protein synthesis, or other biological processes attributed to its parent gene RPL7. There is no evidence that RPL7P18 serves as a direct therapeutic or diagnostic target, nor is it associated with disease or drug interaction in current genomic databases. No functional protein product or validated biomarker role is ascribed to RPL7P18. Its primary classification is as a noncoding pseudogene locus, not as an active participant in physiological or pathological processes.
