Ribosomal protein L7 pseudogene 18 (RPL7P18)

Ribosomal protein L7 pseudogene 18 (RPL7P18) is a processed pseudogene of the ribosomal protein L7 family in the human genome. Pseudogenes like RPL7P18 are DNA sequences similar to known genes but are non-functional due to mutations or lack of regulatory elements required for protein coding. RPL7P18, specifically, does not encode a functional ribosomal protein or participate in ribosome assembly, protein synthesis, or other biological processes attributed to its parent gene RPL7.
