Ribosomal protein L7 pseudogene 24 (RPL7P24) is a processed pseudogene located on chromosome 5. It is a noncoding DNA sequence that arose by retrotransposition of the RPL7 gene and shares sequence similarity but lacks introns and does not produce a functional protein. RPL7P24 is part of the large set of ribosomal protein pseudogenes found throughout the genome. These pseudogenes are remnants of gene duplication and retrotransposition events, with no evidence for involvement in translation, disease modulation, or drug interactions. Documentation from genome databases (HGNC, Ensembl, GeneCards) confirms RPL7P24 is annotated as a pseudogene with no reported functional transcripts, encoded proteins, or clinical relevance
