Overview

Ribosomal protein L7 pseudogene 28 (RPL7P28) is a processed pseudogene located on chromosome 6q21[3]. It is homologous to the functional ribosomal protein L7 gene (RPL7), which encodes a structural protein of the 60S ribosomal subunit. Unlike the functional gene, RPL7P28 does not encode a protein and has no known biological, therapeutic, or disease role, nor any established molecular interactions or safety considerations[3][5]. Pseudogenes like RPL7P28 may have evolutionary or regulatory significance in rare instances, but there is no current evidence of such a function for this locus[5].
