Ribosomal protein L7 pseudogene 30 (RPL7P30)

Overview

RPL7P30 is a processed pseudogene of the ribosomal protein L7 gene family. Pseudogenes arise when gene copies become functionally inactive due to disablements such as frameshifts or premature stop codons. RPL7P30 does not produce a functional protein and is not known to have any biological function or role in disease, nor is it considered a therapeutic target. The parent gene, RPL7, encodes a structural component of the 60S ribosomal subunit essential for protein synthesis, but the pseudogene does not contribute to these activities. RPL7P30 is a non-functional pseudogene, not a receptor, enzyme, or therapeutically actionable target. There is nothing to suggest it is involved in disease, drug action, or considered for biomarker or safety relevance. Entries listing RPL7P30 as a drug target or disease gene are incorrect; this is a common issue with pseudogene annotations.
