RPL7P33 is one of many processed pseudogenes of the ribosomal protein L7 (RPL7) in the human genome[2][6]. It does not encode a functional protein and has no established role in protein synthesis, regulation, or disease. Pseudogenes like RPL7P33 arise from duplication or retrotransposition events and typically accumulate mutations preventing expression or protein function. While the parental RPL7 gene is an important component of the ribosome involved in translation and is biologically active, RPL7P33 serves no known biological function and is not considered a druggable or therapeutic target. Some pseudogenes may have regulatory roles, but there is currently no evidence supporting such a function for RPL7P33[2][6].
