While the parental RPL7 gene encodes a structural component of the 60S ribosomal subunit involved in protein synthesis and has known biochemical and disease associations, RPL7P46 itself does not produce a functional protein and is not involved in molecular mechanisms such as signaling, enzyme activity, or drug interaction. Thus, RPL7P46 should not be mistaken for a druggable therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, or transporter, and there is no evidence of it serving as a biomarker or being associated with safety concerns.
