Ribosomal protein L7 pseudogene 47 (RPL7P47) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome, derived from the functional ribosomal protein L7 gene (RPL7), which encodes a component of the large 60S ribosomal subunit involved in protein synthesis. Pseudogenes such as RPL7P47 resemble their functional counterparts but typically lack the ability to code for a functional protein due to mutations, lack of regulatory elements, or other genomic rearrangements. There is no current evidence that RPL7P47 is expressed or has functional significance in health or disease, nor is it considered a therapeutic target for drug development.
