Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein L7 pseudogene 52 (RPL7P52) is a human processed pseudogene that is homologous to the functional ribosomal protein L7 gene but does not encode a protein. Like many ribosomal protein pseudogenes, RPL7P52 is the result of gene duplication or retrotransposition events and is not transcribed or translated into a functional product. There is no evidence that RPL7P52 has any biological activity, involvement in disease, or interaction with drugs. It is primarily noted in genomic studies as a nonfunctional remnant associated with the ribosomal protein gene family[1][2][5][7][11].
