Overview

Ribosomal protein L7 pseudogene 6 (RPL7P6) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome, derived from the ribosomal protein L7 (RPL7) gene. As a pseudogene, RPL7P6 does not encode a functional protein and is not believed to be involved in known human pathologies or normal biological processes. Multiple processed pseudogenes for ribosomal protein L7 exist throughout the human genome, byproducts of gene duplication and retrotransposition events. Most pseudogenes, including RPL7P6, are considered non-functional, though some may have minor regulatory potential at the RNA level. RPL7P6 is not considered a therapeutic or pharmacological target, nor is it associated with drug interaction, disease, or biomarker applications[2][5][8][9][12][13].
