Pseudogenes such as RPL7AP10 result from genetic duplication or retrotransposition, but lack the proper regulatory elements or coding sequence to create a functional protein. As such, RPL7AP10 does not have an active biological function, is not considered a therapeutic target, and does not contribute to disease pathology or serve as a biomarker.
