RPL7AP21 (ribosomal protein L7a pseudogene 21) is a processed pseudogene found in the human genome, annotated in gene databases as a non-functional copy of the protein-coding RPL7A gene, which encodes ribosomal protein L7a[3][4][2][6]. RPL7AP21 does not produce a functional protein, and there is no current evidence of biological or disease relevance or of druggability. It is one of many ribosomal protein pseudogenes, and unlike the parental RPL7A gene, it has no recognized cellular function or role in disease, nor is it considered a therapeutic target[3][5].
