Ribosomal protein L7a pseudogene 27 (RPL7AP27) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome that is homologous to the functional RPL7A gene, which encodes a component of the 60S ribosomal subunit[6][8]. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences that derive from protein-coding genes but have lost their ability to encode functional products due to mutations or lack of regulatory elements. RPL7AP27 does not produce a functional protein, is not known to be involved in biological pathways, disease processes, or drug interactions, and is not considered a therapeutic or diagnostic target[6][8][7].
