Overview

Ribosomal protein L7a pseudogene 39 (RPL7AP39) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome homologous to the functional ribosomal protein L7a (RPL7A), which encodes a component of the 60S large ribosomal subunit. Unlike the active RPL7A gene, RPL7AP39 does not produce a functional protein and is not involved in protein synthesis or cellular processes; it is one of several non-coding loci derived from retrotransposition or duplication events involving the parental ribosomal protein gene. As a pseudogene, RPL7AP39 has no established biological function, disease association, or pharmacological relevance[1][2][4].
