Unlike the protein-coding RPL7A gene, RPL7AP45 does not encode a functional protein and is not involved in cellular processes such as translation, ribosome assembly, or regulatory interactions. The existence of multiple ribosomal protein pseudogenes, including RPL7AP45, is a well-known genomic feature, and these pseudogenes are generally considered non-functional, with no known implications for disease, drug targeting, or biomarker development[2][4][1].
