Ribosomal protein L7a pseudogene 63 (RPL7AP63) is a processed pseudogene that shares sequence similarity with the gene encoding ribosomal protein L7a (RPL7A). However, it is not a functional gene and does not encode a protein product or function as a therapeutic target. It is one of multiple pseudogenes derived from the ribosomal protein L7a (RPL7A) gene. Pseudogenes are genetic sequences similar to functional genes but are generally non-coding and do not produce active protein products. RPL7AP63 does not encode a functional ribosomal protein and therefore has no known biological activity, therapeutic relevance, or role in disease, diagnosis, or drug interaction. Pseudogenes such as RPL7AP63 are typically not considered valid drug targets, receptors, enzymes, or transporters; they are remnants of gene duplication or retrotransposition events and have lost their protein-coding capability. There is no evidence that RPL7AP63 is involved in any disease process or can be modulated by drugs.
