Overview

Ribosomal protein L7a pseudogene 77 (RPL7AP77) is a human pseudogene located on chromosome 7[3][8][4]. As a pseudogene, it is a DNA sequence that closely resembles the functional ribosomal protein L7a gene but has lost the ability to code for a protein, often due to mutations or lack of necessary regulatory elements[10]. Pseudogenes in general may have regulatory functions in gene expression via RNA-mediated mechanisms but do not encode functional proteins and are not conventional drug or therapeutic targets[6][10]. There is no evidence of physiological function, disease association, or drug interaction for RPL7AP77 as of current genome annotation[3][4][8][9]. RPL7AP77 should not be considered a therapeutic target; it is a noncoding pseudogene with no well-described biological function, clinical relevance, or drug interactions.[3][10]
