Overview

Ribosomal protein L9 pseudogene 3 (RPL9P3) is a pseudogene in humans, meaning it is a non-functional copy of the ribosomal protein L9 gene and does not encode a functional protein[7][4]. Like many ribosomal protein families, the L9 gene has several processed pseudogenes scattered throughout the genome[3][5]. Pseudogenes such as RPL9P3 arise from duplication or retrotransposition events but lack the necessary regulatory elements or coding potential to produce a functional product. Consequently, RPL9P3 is not a therapeutic target and is not implicated in disease biology, drug targeting, or biomarker development[7]. There are no known biological functions, disease associations, or therapeutic concerns directly related to this pseudogene.
