Overview

Ribosomal protein lateral stalk subunit P0 pseudogene 1 (RPLP0P1, dJ777L9.2) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome, derived from the protein-coding gene RPLP0, which encodes a component of the 60S ribosomal subunit. RPLP0P1 itself does not produce a functional protein. Pseudogenes such as RPLP0P1 can occasionally participate in regulatory networks, for example by acting as decoys for microRNAs or influencing gene expression of their parent genes, but their function is often limited and context-dependent. There is no evidence that RPLP0P1 on its own is a molecular or therapeutic target, nor is it directly associated with disease or drug interaction[2][4]. This entry should not be used as a canonical drug target due to its pseudogene status and absence of any protein product or direct biological activity relevant to therapeutic intervention, biomarkers, or drug interactions[2][4][5].

Mechanism of action

Not applicable (not a therapeutic target)

03

Biological functions

May participate in gene regulatory networks such as acting as miRNA decoys or influencing transcriptional regulation, but does not catalyze protein synthesis or represent a classical receptor or enzyme
04

Disease associations

No direct disease association, but some pseudogenes are implicated in cancer or gene regulation in other contexts; no specific disease role for RPLP0P1 identified in available sources
05

Safety considerations

None reported; not a therapeutic target
06

Interacting drugs

None documented (as it is not a protein target; no drugs interact with this pseudogene)
07

Biomarkers

None reported
