Pseudogenes like RPLP0P10 share high sequence similarity with their parental genes but are genetically disabled (lacking regulatory elements or carrying frameshift/stop mutations) and are typically not transcribed into functional protein. They arise via retrotransposition (LINE1-mediated) or gene duplication events during genome evolution, and the human genome contains thousands of such ribosomal protein pseudogenes[1][4][10]. RPLP0P10 itself does not encode a protein, does not participate in cellular biochemical pathways, and is not considered involved in disease processes or pharmacological targeting[3][10].
