Ribosomal protein lateral stalk subunit P0 pseudogene 11 (RPLP0P11) is a processed pseudogene, meaning it is a non-functional genomic sequence that originally arose by duplication or retrotransposition of the functional RPLP0 gene. Unlike the active RPLP0 protein, which plays a key role in ribosome structure and translation, RPLP0P11 does not encode an active protein and has no known biological, therapeutic, or disease relevance. Such pseudogenes are common in ribosomal protein families and are often misidentified as functional targets in databases; only the canonical RPLP0 gene product is involved in cellular function and disease[4].
