Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein lateral stalk subunit P1 pseudogene 6 (RPLP1P6) is a processed pseudogene of the ribosomal protein lateral stalk subunit P1 (RPLP1) gene in humans. Unlike the parental RPLP1 gene, which encodes a component of the 60S ribosomal subunit involved in protein synthesis, RPLP1P6 does not code for a functional protein and is classified as a pseudogene. There is no experimental evidence that RPLP1P6 has an established function or disease role. It represents a genomic relic and does not act as a conventional therapeutic target, although the functional roles of pseudogenes as regulatory RNAs are emerging areas of research[3][7][8][9].
