Ribosomal protein S10 pseudogene 27 (RPS10P27) is classified as a processed pseudogene located in the human genome. Pseudogenes such as RPS10P27 are DNA sequences that are similar to known genes but are nonfunctional due to mutations, truncations, or lack of regulatory elements needed for proper expression. RPS10P27 is related by sequence to the protein-coding RPS10 gene, which produces the ribosomal protein S10—a component of the 40S small ribosomal subunit involved in protein synthesis. However, RPS10P27 itself does not produce a functional protein and has no evidenced role in cellular processes or disease. It is not considered a therapeutic target or biomarker and has no known drug interactions or safety concerns[1][8].
