Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein S12 pseudogene 3 (RPS12P3) is a noncoding processed pseudogene of the ribosomal protein S12 gene. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences similar to known genes but typically lack the ability to encode functional proteins due to mutations or deletions that disrupt transcription or translation. RPS12P3 has no known protein product, enzymatic activity, or cellular function, and is not considered a therapeutic target for drug development. Multiple processed pseudogenes exist for ribosomal protein genes, likely due to their high expression levels, but these are generally transcriptionally inactive or have no established biological role.
