Unlike the functional RPS13 gene, which encodes a component of the small 40S ribosomal subunit involved in protein synthesis[1][5], RPS13P3 does not encode a protein and is not known to be expressed, interact with drugs, or participate in biological pathways. Pseudogenes such as RPS13P3 typically arise through genomic duplication or retrotransposition events, and while some pseudogenes have regulatory functions or disease associations, there is no evidence for such roles in RPS13P3[3][8]. RPS13P3 (Ribosomal protein S13 pseudogene 3) is a processed pseudogene—not a protein-coding gene, receptor, or drug target. It should not be considered a therapeutic target, and there is no evidence of biological activity, disease association, drug interaction, or biomarker status for this locus[3][8].
