Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein S17 pseudogene 17 (*RPS17P17*) is a processed, non-functional pseudogene related to the *RPS17* gene, which encodes a component of the 40S subunit of the ribosome, essential for protein synthesis in human cells. Like most ribosomal protein pseudogenes, RPS17P17 arose through retrotransposition and does not produce a protein. It has no known role in therapeutic intervention, disease, or normal cellular function[5][8][10].
