Target intelligence / Profile preview
RPS19P6 (Ribosomal protein S19 pseudogene 6) is a human processed pseudogene related to the RPS19 gene, which encodes the 40S ribosomal protein S19, a component of the small ribosomal subunit involved in ribosome biogenesis and protein synthesis. RPS19P6 itself does not encode a functional protein and is not known to have a direct biological function or disease association. It is one of several pseudogenes for RPS19 scattered throughout the genome, reflecting common evolutionary events where ribosomal protein genes give rise to non-functional pseudogenes
