Target intelligence / Profile preview
RPS20P1 is a processed pseudogene derived from the RPS20 gene, which encodes ribosomal protein S20—a component of the 40S ribosomal subunit. Like most ribosomal protein genes, RPS20 has multiple processed pseudogenes throughout the genome, none of which encode functional proteins. Pseudogenes arise from duplication or retrotransposition events and typically lack regulatory elements needed for proper expression or encode nonfunctional polypeptides. RPS20P1 does not play a known biological role, is not a therapeutic target, and has no reported involvement in disease, biomarkers, or drug interactions.
