Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein S24 pseudogene 21 (RPS24P21) is a non-functional pseudogene related to the RPS24 gene, which encodes the ribosomal protein S24, a component of the small 40S ribosomal subunit. Unlike the functional RPS24 gene, pseudogenes such as RPS24P21 do not produce proteins and have no established biological or therapeutic role[8]. Multiple processed pseudogenes resembling ribosomal proteins like RPS24 are common in the human genome, but these do not serve as therapeutic targets or as functional proteins[5][7][8].
