Ribosomal protein S26 pseudogene 35 (RPS26P35) is a processed pseudogene related to the ribosomal protein S26 gene (RPS26) family. A pseudogene is a segment of DNA similar to a gene but typically non-functional due to the absence of regulatory elements or the presence of disabling mutations. RPS26P35 does not encode a functional ribosomal protein and does not participate in ribosome assembly or function.
