Ribosomal protein S29 pseudogene 12 (RPS29P12) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome. It is a non-coding DNA sequence similar to the functional ribosomal protein S29 (RPS29) gene but does not produce a functional protein and has no known biological or therapeutic function. Like many processed pseudogenes, RPS29P12 is present in the genome as a remnant of gene duplication events but is not expressed or involved in known cellular pathways. Pseudogenes such as RPS29P12 are not considered molecular drug targets and do not play a direct role in disease or therapy[4][5][6][9][8].
