Overview

Ribosomal protein S29 pseudogene 13 (RPS29P13) is a non-functional, processed pseudogene related to the functional ribosomal protein S29 gene (RPS29)[5][4]. Unlike the protein-coding gene, RPS29P13 does not encode a ribosomal protein and, to current knowledge, is not involved in any known cellular or disease processes and is not a therapeutic target. It is retained as a genomic remnant in the human genome but lacks evidence of functional protein expression or involvement in ribosomal biogenesis or human disease.

Mechanism of action

None

03

Biological functions

None (No known biological function; pseudogenes by definition generally lack biological activity)
04

Disease associations

None (No direct disease association; functional RPS29, not the pseudogene, is linked to Diamond-Blackfan anemia and other processes[2][3][7])
05

Biomarkers

None (functional RPS29 may have biomarker roles, not the pseudogene)
