Overview

Ribosomal protein S3 pseudogene 3 is a processed pseudogene located in the human genome and does not encode a functional protein[3][1][6]. It is derived from the ribosomal protein S3 gene (RPS3), which encodes a key 40S ribosomal subunit component involved in protein synthesis, DNA damage repair, and cellular stress responses[1][5]. Unlike its parental gene, RPS3P3 lacks coding potential, does not produce active ribosomal protein, and there is no evidence it participates directly in any known biological functions, therapeutic mechanisms, or disease processes. There are multiple annotated pseudogenes related to ribosomal proteins dispersed throughout the genome[1][6]. No drugs, biomarkers, or therapeutic mechanisms are associated with RPS3P3, and it is not considered a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or therapeutic target.
