Ribosomal protein S3a pseudogene 23 (RPS3AP23) is a transcribed processed pseudogene derived from the parental gene RPS3A, which encodes a component of the small 40S ribosomal subunit, but RPS3AP23 itself does not encode a functional protein. It is classified as a retrocopy located on chromosome 10 (chr10:83671400-83672259). As with most ribosomal protein pseudogenes, RPS3AP23 has no known biological function, no role in disease, and is not considered a therapeutic target[7][8][9][10].
