Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein S3a pseudogene 28 (RPS3AP28) is one of many processed pseudogenes derived from the functional RPS3A gene, which encodes a component of the 40S ribosomal subunit involved in protein synthesis. Pseudogenes like RPS3AP28 are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but are non-functional due to the accumulation of disabling mutations and/or lack of regulatory elements. They do not produce functional protein products and are not considered therapeutic targets, molecular drug targets, or relevant biomarkers in human disease or therapy.
