Ribosomal protein S3a pseudogene 34 (RPS3AP34)

Target
RPS3AP34
Molecular classification
Pseudogene, Processed pseudogene
01

Overview

Ribosomal protein S3a pseudogene 34 (RPS3AP34) is a processed pseudogene originating from retrotransposition of the functional RPS3A gene, which encodes a component of the 40S small ribosomal subunit involved in protein biosynthesis. As a pseudogene, RPS3AP34 does not encode a functional protein, carries sequence similarity to RPS3A, and is considered nonfunctional in terms of ribosome assembly or protein synthesis. There is no evidence that RPS3AP34 is involved in disease, drug response, or biological signaling processes.
