Ribosomal protein S3a pseudogene 35 (RPS3AP35) is a processed pseudogene derived from the parent ribosomal protein S3A (RPS3A) gene. Unlike the parent gene, which encodes a component of the small ribosomal subunit involved in protein synthesis, RPS3AP35 does not encode a functional protein and is listed as a pseudogene in major genomic databases. Pseudogenes such as RPS3AP35 are typically considered genomic relics without coding or regulatory function, although some pseudogenes can influence gene expression in rare cases. There is no evidence that RPS3AP35 is functional or clinically relevant as a drug target, biomarker, or in disease biology.
