Ribosomal protein S3a pseudogene 37 (RPS3AP37) is a processed pseudogene derived from the ribosomal protein S3A gene (RPS3A)[7][11][6][9]. RPS3A itself encodes a component of the 40S ribosomal subunit and is required for protein synthesis[3][5]; however, RPS3AP37 does not produce a functional protein and is classified as a non-coding pseudogene[7][11]. Such pseudogenes are considered genomic relics and do not have known coding function, therapeutic relevance, or direct roles in disease, and they are not molecular drug targets[7][9][11].
