RPS3A pseudogene 5 (RPS3AP5) is a processed pseudogene related to the ribosomal protein S3A gene, which encodes a component of the 40S subunit of the ribosome responsible for protein synthesis[5]. While its parental gene RPS3A plays essential roles in ribosome function and cellular protein translation, RPS3AP5 itself is annotated as a non-coding pseudogene, meaning it does not produce a functional protein and is not known to directly participate in cellular processes or disease mechanisms[5]. There is currently no literature supporting its use as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or its association with drug interactions. Thus, it is classified as a genetic locus without known physiological or pharmacological significance.
